Looking for inspiration from my successful 2023 trades, noticed that I made two covered call trades on my Vanguard Real Estate ETF (VNQ) portfolio holdings starting last January 2023 that both worked out well – so I ran the numbers and was able to put a similar trade on with a higher strike price and more contracts than last year (love dividends) – but for a little less premium.
Here is the trade:
- Sold: Ten (10) VNQ Feb 16, 2023 Calls
- Strike Price: $93.00
- *Premium Collected: $950.00
Rolling the dice for the third time on VNQ – let’s hope my timing is not as bad as the Pfizer Inc (PFE) trade from last month. I am glad I hung in there with PFE since the trade is working out nicely now, but PFE really tanked the day after I made the trade.
Note: I don’t have Vanguard Real Estate ETF (VNQ) in my trading account holdings – it is in my income portfolio now that I am retired – but I will sell covered calls on any of my holdings when I feel the valuations are elevated.
